Anonymous Texting

When you create an account, you are given a free number and 3 free credits to start. To send a text, open the app. In the upper right hand corner you will see an icon that resembles a written message and a plus sign (+). Click on that icon. The next screen asks you to type in the telephone number (where the text is going to be sent) and also to choose the country code from a drop down list. If you want to send a message to someone in your contacts, press on the "+" sign to the right of where the number goes...that will take you to your contacts.

At the bottom of your screen, you can type in your actual message. Then you click on the arrow icon to the right of your typed message and your message will be sent.

When you first you set up the app, you are asked to verify your cell phone number. You will then see a message saying that you will be sent a text with a “verification code”. When you receive that code, just type it into the set up screen for the app (it should indicate where you need to insert the code) and then continue the set up process.

You are not able to change your phone number, but you can purchase new numbers directly through the app.

Click on the 3 small horizontal lines that appear in the upper left-hand corner of the main screen (to the left of your phone number) and select “Get New Number”. You will then have the opportunity to select an area code for your number by pressing where it says “area code”; on the next screen, you put in the area code you want and press “done”; that will take you to a new screen and you press “Get Number” and your new number, with the area code you selected, will be generated for you.

The cost for a new number is 10 credits. Also, please be aware that if you do not use your number for two weeks, the number will automatically be deactivated and you will then have to purchase a new number.

You can't change an area code for an existing number. You can, however, request a specific area code when you buy a new number.

Unfortunately, we are unable to deliver messages that come in while your account is inactive and/or you have no credits. Therefore, any messages that come in during either of these situations, will not be delivered or saved.

If you plan on receiving incoming messages, you need to make sure that your number is active by using it at least once a week, and that you have enough credits in your account at all times.

You are charged one credit for each incoming and/or outgoing text message consisting of 160 characters or less. If the text message contains more than 160 characters, your message is sent in multiple texts, and for each additional message, you are charged 1 additional credit. For example, if you send a message that contains 200 characters, it will be sent as two separate messages and you would be charged 2 credits.

For photos/pictures you are charged 1 credit per picture. Please note, however, that pictures must be sent separately. Please be aware that you will not be able to send a text message and a picture together.

The problem is that you have not used your number for two weeks or more. The app is set up to automatically deactivate numbers that have not been used in two weeks. In this case you need to go into your app and get a new number. You can do this by clicking on the 3 small horizontal lines that appear in the upper left-hand corner of the main screen (to the left of your phone number); Select “Get a New Number” from the drop down menu; Press “area code” and on the next screen, put in the area code you want to use (We suggest that you use a USA based area code) and press “Done”; (if the area code you selected is not available, you will be prompted to select another one); On the next screen press “Get Number” and you will receive your new number. You will be charged 10 credits for the number.

In the future, to prevent this from happening again, just remember to send at least one text per week in order to keep your account active and keep the number from being deactivated.

You need credits in order to send and receive messages. Each text message you send and/or receive (of 160 characters or less) is 1 credit. You also need credits to purchase additional phone numbers, which are 10 credits each.

You can earn free credits directly through the app on your phone. In the top left hand corner of your dashboard screen, click on the three small horizontal bars to the left of your phone number; Select "Earn Free Credits". You will see a list of promotions/offers you can complete and each one shows you how many free credits you will receive for completing that particular offer.

Once you have completed the offer and/or watched the video, you will receive your free credits - usually within a short period of time - but occasionally it can take up to 24 hours or longer to see your earned credits posted to your account.

You can buy credits directly through your app.

In the top left hand corner of your dashboard screen, click on the three small horizontal bars to the left of your phone number; Select “Buy Credits”. You will see the different number of credits you can purchase and the corresponding prices. Click on the “Buy” button next to the amount of minutes you want to purchase and when the order pops up, click on “Buy” again.

It will charge the amount of your purchase to your default payment method with Google.

We use a third party provider to manage the process of adding free credits earned to customers’ accounts. Typically, they add the free/earned credits to your account within approximately 10-20 minutes. Occasionally, however, depending on how you earned the free credits, it could take up to 24 hours to see the credits posted to your account.

Although it can occasionally take some time for your credits to be processed, if you feel too much time has passed from the time you completed the offer, just follow these instructions:

From your app home screen, press “Earn Free Credits”. In the lower right-hand corner of the “Earn Credits” page, there is a link that says “Missing Credits?” – Click on that. On the next screen, select "Choose an Offer"

  1. Choose from the drop down menu of the offers you have completed;
  2. Select the offer you have not received the credits for;
  3. Add a description of the offer in question;
  4. Provide your email address so they can contact you; and
  5. Click “SUBMIT SUPPORT REQUEST”.

You will immediately receive an email which includes a Ticket ID number. Please use that same Ticket ID number for all future correspondence or inquiries in connection with that particular offer. Also, if you download the Tapjoy app, you can track the status of all your offers using your same email address that you provided earlier.

No. The numbers you use to send your messages will not appear on your cell phone bill. The text messages are not going through your regular telephone number or your regular phone carrier. So, because you are not using your real number, there will be no trace of it on your cell phone bill.

You are able to delete entire conversations, but not individual texts.

Inside your app click on your phone number; The next screen will show you each conversation (two-way texting) that has occurred on that number. Place your finger on that conversation and swipe to the left; you will see a red button that says DELETE. Just click on that and the conversation will be deleted.

As long as everything you are doing is legal, the other person will not know who you are and it is up to you to determine how much of your information you disclose to them.

However, if you engage in any illegal activities, your texts may be traced back to you.
